In the light of the Government announcement placing the UK in lockdown, I wanted to update you on what we are doing as a business here at Kohler Mira to support the UK attempt to slow the spread of the Coronavirus.
There are aspects of our business that are essential in supporting the efforts to fight and slow the virus, particularly the products that we build under the Rada brand that are specifically for the healthcare sector. We are seeing increased demand for these products and we believe it is right that we continue to build and distribute them in order to support the amazing work of the NHS.
The health and safety of our team is my number one priority and while we are doing all we can to adhere to the guidelines around social distancing, we are also conscious that there are some products in our portfolio that are not essential during this unprecedented time.
Therefore, we have taken the decision to suspend some operations from Friday 27th March.
The exception to this is that due to the strength of our UK manufacturing and development, we are currently exploring an opportunity to produce ventilators. Should that become a reality, we will re-open production to volunteers to come back in and help with that effort.
Our office staff will continue to work from home, including our contact centre colleagues. In order to help them manage calls, we have temporarily reduced our opening hours to 08:00 – 16:00, Monday – Thursday and 08:00 – 15.30 on Fridays.
We are continuing a limited in-home repairs service for our most vulnerable customers, during which our field service team will be strictly adhering to government guidelines to minimise the risk to themselves and others. Where we are unable to attend the property, our expert teams will try to diagnose and then fix the fault remotely.
We thank all our customers, suppliers and staff for your support at this difficult time. Please feel free to get in touch should you need any more specific information.
